Job description

Make a Difference in Education – SEN Tutors Needed in Christchurch

TP Tutors is committed to helping every learner access education in a way that works for them. Through personalised one-to-one tuition, we support children and young people who may struggle in mainstream settings to rebuild confidence, develop skills, and achieve positive outcomes.

We are currently recruiting SEN Tutors in Christchurch to support students with additional educational and emotional needs.

Role: SEN Tutor
Location: Christchurch and surrounding areas
Contract Type: Flexible part-time and full-time positions available

About the Role

This rewarding position involves delivering tailored tuition sessions to learners who require extra support outside of a traditional classroom environment. Every session is designed to meet the individual needs of the student and create a positive learning experience.

Main Duties

  • Provide engaging and personalised one-to-one tuition
  • Support learners with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, and other additional needs
  • Adapt lesson content and teaching techniques to suit each student
  • Encourage participation, confidence, and positive learning habits
  • Establish strong and supportive relationships with learners and families
  • Monitor academic and emotional progress and adjust sessions accordingly
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Suitable backgrounds include teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth support, care, or education support roles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patient, understanding, and flexible approach to learning support
  • Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Willingness to travel locally within Christchurch and nearby areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
