Job description

Support Learning in a Personalised Way – SEN Tutor (Poole)

At TP Tutors, we know that every student learns differently. With the right encouragement and tailored support, young people can rebuild confidence and make significant progress both academically and personally.

We are looking for passionate SEN Tutors in Poole to provide one-to-one tuition for learners who need additional support outside of mainstream classroom settings.

Position: SEN Tutor
Location: Poole and surrounding areas
Contract: Flexible part-time and full-time roles available

About the Opportunity

As an SEN Tutor, you will plan and deliver engaging personalised sessions that help students overcome barriers to learning. You will support children and young people with a variety of additional needs, helping them feel supported, motivated, and successful in their education journey.

Sessions will take place in homes or local community environments.

Main Duties

  • Provide engaging one-to-one tuition tailored to individual needs
  • Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, and other additional needs
  • Modify teaching approaches to suit different learning styles
  • Encourage learners to develop confidence and independence
  • Build strong, positive relationships that support progress
  • Monitor engagement and adapt sessions where needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people preferred
  • Experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, care, or support work beneficial
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable attitude
  • Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Willingness to travel across Poole and nearby areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
