Job description

SEN Tutors Needed – Support Learners Across Bournemouth

TP Tutors is looking for enthusiastic and supportive SEN Tutors to provide personalised one-to-one tuition for learners across Bournemouth and surrounding areas.

Position: SEN Tutor
Location: Bournemouth and nearby areas
Hours: Flexible part-time and full-time roles available

About the Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will work with students who require additional educational support outside of mainstream classroom settings. Learners may experience challenges related to Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, or other learning barriers.

Your role will focus on helping students rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve meaningful progress through tailored educational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver personalised tuition sessions
  • Adapt lesson content to meet individual learner needs
  • Encourage confidence, motivation, and independence
  • Support academic and emotional development
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies when required
  • Communicate effectively with families and professionals
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people is advantageous
  • Suitable backgrounds include teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or support work
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Patient, understanding, and flexible approach
  • Reliable and committed to supporting learner success
  • Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Ability to travel throughout Bournemouth and surrounding areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
