Job description

SEN Tutor Roles – Make a Difference in Christchurch

TP Tutors is currently recruiting caring and motivated SEN Tutors to provide personalised educational support for children and young people across Christchurch and nearby areas. If you’re passionate about helping learners succeed, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Role: SEN Tutor
Location: Christchurch and surrounding areas
Contract Type: Flexible part-time and full-time positions available

The Opportunity

This role involves supporting students outside of traditional classroom environments through tailored one-to-one tuition. You will work with learners who may face additional challenges linked to Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, anxiety, or other educational barriers.

By creating engaging and supportive learning experiences, you’ll help students rebuild confidence, develop key skills, and make meaningful academic progress.

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver personalised tuition sessions
  • Modify learning approaches to meet individual student needs
  • Encourage learner engagement, confidence, and independence
  • Provide emotional and educational support throughout sessions
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and professionals
  • Track and review student progress regularly
  • Create a positive and nurturing learning atmosphere

Who We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience with children or young people is desirable
  • Suitable for individuals from teaching, mentoring, tutoring, care, youth work, or support backgrounds
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable nature
  • Reliable, organised, and committed to making a difference
  • Awareness of safeguarding and learner wellbeing
  • Willingness to travel within Christchurch and nearby locations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
