Teaching Personnel are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a client school based in Cwmbran. The school are looking for someone who is experienced and competent with the use of Makaton. The role will involve you supporting students aged between 4-11 years of age at this Ofsted rated "Outstanding" SEN school.

The role will see you working to ensure the students achieve their full potential both academically and personally. Makaton is a focus with this role, however you will also need to have the skills and attributes required to be successful as a SEN Teaching Assistant at this school. Committed, empathetic, resilient, hardworking, fully focused as a team player and educated to degree level.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) would be of interest
  • Long-term & full-time position
  • Located in Cwmbran

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Having a degree is ideal, but not essential - Ideal for Psychology Graduates
  • Ideal experience for an aspiring Speech & Language Therapist
  • It's essential that you have previous experience using Makaton
  • Must be a caring and supportive individual that is prepared to put the children first
  • Good understanding of the SEN curriculum
