SEN Teaching Assistant – Thornton-Cleveleys - September Start
Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Location: Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in the Thornton-Cleveleys area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with special educational needs.

This role involves providing support for students with a range of complex needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and record student progress, reporting to teachers and SENCO.
  • Promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and positive behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare is advantageous but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
