**SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 4 - Rochdale**
Do you have prior experience working with children with challenging behaviour? Are you passionate about supporting and shaping the education & lives of children? Are you available from Monday 23rd April 2019?
The school is based in Rochdale (OL11) and is an average sized 'two form school. Support is required for a young boy in a Year 4 class.
The Head teacher and staff members have an excellent support system in place. Teachers have high expectations of pupils and ensure that not a moment of learning time is wasted. Current pupils make good progress in these classes. The pupils refer to the school as being like 'one, big family' and are very respectful to staff members and each other.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of supporting children with SEN, specifically ADHD. The child can be easily distracted, and needs additional support to help access the curriculum and stay on task at all times. The child can show challenging behaviour occasionally so the ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to assisting teaching and will be able to build good working relationships.
About the role:
- ASAP start date
- Working 1:1 with a KS2 pupil with social and emotional needs
- Based in a Year 4 class
- Giving accurate handovers to the Teacher and/or carers of the child at the end of your day
- Full time and on a long term basis
- Possibility to become permanent if agreed by Head teacher

- Excellent behaviour management skills
- Proven confident and engaging interaction with children
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to work well as part of a team
The role will be on a full time, long term basis and will begin week commencing Monday 23rd April 2019.
