A client primary school in the Whalley Range area of Manchester (M16) area is looking for a teaching assistant to join their KS2 team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child in Year 5 who has downs syndrome. The child can access the curriculum; however, needs support developing socially and integrating with peers. The school are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is able to build a strong working relationship with the child to enable them to move forward with their academic and social progression.
The SENCO has developed a learning plan for the particular child which focuses strongly on areas for development. The ideal candidate will work closely with the SENCO, the class teacher and the child's parents to assess the childs progression.
The position is to work in a large, 3 form entry primary school in Whalley Range (M16) which is dedicated to 'helping each child to reach their academic potential'. The school are looking for a bubbly, optimistic individual to join their KS2 team as soon as possible! The post will run until the end of the academic year and will be on going.
The ideal candidate will be expected to:
- Provide 1:1 support to child with specific needs in Year 5
- Have strong communication skills
- Provide an enjoyable learning environment for the child by tailoring learning to suit their needs

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
