SEN Teaching Assistant – Wavertree

Location: Wavertree, Liverpool
Agency: Teaching Personnel
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term
Salary: £80–£95 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a non-verbal child in a welcoming primary school based in Wavertree.

 About the Role:

  • One-to-one support for a non-verbal child with complex needs
  • Implementing communication strategies such as PECS or Makaton (training can be provided)
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment

 Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly non-verbal communication
  • Knowledge of autism, speech and language difficulties, or similar needs
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient
  • Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
