SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Temp to Perm Opportunity
A specialist primary school is currently seeking committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team, supporting pupils aged 2–11 with complex learning needs. All pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in place, and the school prides itself on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment.
This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Role Overview
The appointed SEN Teaching Assistant will work in close collaboration with teaching staff and external professionals to support children with:
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
Support will be delivered in both group and one-to-one settings, with a strong emphasis on fostering independence, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the implementation of personalised learning plans
- Supporting pupils with personal care and sensory needs
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Promoting communication and social interaction
- Collaborating effectively with teachers, therapists, and families
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working with children with PMLD, SLD, or ASC
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to support
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant SEN training or qualifications (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
