Daily Rate: £56-£65

Full time role - Immediate start

Our Specialist SEN Branch here at Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a client school based in Ely, Cardiff. They cater for students with a variety of special needs. In particular, they support children who have a diagnosis of Autism and also students with Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties.

This role will involve working in the secondary department of the school with students who have Autism or Aspergers. As such, the ability to encourage and support these pupils while maintaining an awareness of their individual triggers and difficulties will be essential. Some of these pupils can exhibit challenging behaviours, so some experience with de-escalation strategies and possibly a valid Team Teach and Manual Handling certificate would also be useful.

Applicants must :

• Have the legal right to work in the UK
• Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one full assistance provided)
• Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
• Provide at least two professional or character references
• Be available to interview and/or trial asap
