SEN Teaching Assistant jobs in Croydon and Purley

Job description

Day to day and short term work available as an SEN teaching assistant/learning support assistant!

I am currently working with several SEN schools in the Purley, South Croydon and Croydon areas who regularly rely on agency staff being able to cover sickness, holidays and other planned absences for their permanent staff.

The schools I work with are specifically SEN schools where each child will have a statement of Special Educational Needs (now known as an Educational Health Care Plan). They provide a tailored curriculum for students with Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties. There are opportunities to work with either primary or secondary aged students.

To work in these schools you must:

  • Have experience of supporting children with SEN, either school based or from elsewhere
  • Be available to work normal school hours which are 08:30am - 15:30pm Monday - Friday
  • Have a child only DBS on the update service, or be willing to complete a new one asap
  • Be able to provide references from previous employers
  • Be able to use PECs, Makaton or British Sign Language - this is desirable but not essential
  • Live local to Croydon, South Croydon or Purley

Working with Teaching Personnel can offer the following benefits:

  • Potential to progress to working full time
  • A dedicated and SEN knowledgeable consultant to work with you
  • Access to training courses that are either free or heavily subsidised
  • Competitive daily pay rates
  • No umbrella company - we pay your national insurance and pension contribution!

Call or email Louise in the London Bridge office to discuss registering with Teaching Personnel today!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
