Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an alternative provision in the Doncaster area who are looking to recruit Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants with SEMH/behaviour experience across all key stages to start as soon as possible.

The successful Teaching Assistant would have experience with SEMH and challenging behaviours and would posses the correct behaviours in order to support and re-engage SEMH students within a Primary or Secondary classroom setting. Ideally, Teaching Assistants would have additional training such as Team Teach which advantageous but not essential however any Teaching Assistants that are successful may be required to undergo a Team Teach Course. We would also welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills such as ex forces, sports coaches and Youth Workers.

Our ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

  • 6 months experience working with SEMH/challenging behaviours
  • Team Teach Trained or equivalent (e.g. PRICE/MAYBO)
  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or a willingness to learn
  • Patient and nurturing mannerism with excellent behaviour management skills

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
