SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you looking for a new positon within the education section? Teaching Personnel are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work within a SEN school based in York. It’s a fantastic opportunity for a student who is studying a Sports, Psychology, SEND or Educational degree. The position will enable you to gain experience working 1 to 1 with students who have SEN such as Autism and SEMH


  • Supporting the delivery of all lessons and helping to engage students
  • Encouraging and developing the students confidence and independence
  • Liaise with teachers and support staff to develop education plans
  • Age range 4-11
  • 8.30am to 4.00pm

Ideal candidate requirements:

  • Ability to commit to 3 days a week
  • Graduate or currently studying Sports, Psychology, SEND or Educational degree
  • Experience of SEN (1 on 1 would be advantageous)
  • Experience with Autism and Behavioural management desirable
  • Great communication skills
  • Right attitude towards teaching and learning within SEN


  • Full time or part time position including holiday pay
  • GBP61.75 to GBP71.25 a day, paid by Teaching Personnel’s payroll system every Friday
