SEN Teaching Assistant

We are recruiting on behalf of a wonderful Primary Academy in the Newquay area who are seeking an additional SEN specialist to join their team for the remainder of the academic year. The successful applicant will be required to support a child in KS1 with Cerebral palsy on a full-time basis. Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:10pm.

The role:

• To support on a 1:1 basis and provide a stable and nurturing atmosphere for the pupil
• To work alongside the class teacher to provide an inclusive learning experience
• To collaborate with parents and senior leaders to monitor progress
• To provide intimate care where required
• To be a friendly face and encourage confidence when learning and integrating with peers

The applicant:

• Manual Handling training (desired but not essential as training can be provided)
• Passionate and experienced in supporting special educational needs (ideally with experience supporting physical disabilities)
• Nurturing and approachable
• Flexible and able to adapt alongside the child's needs

The SEN team at the school are keen to welcome a new member of staff and hope that the successful applicant can hit the ground running and make a real difference to this pupils school experience. This post will start from February half term and initially run until July 2020. There is potential for a permanent contract from September 2020 but this will be subject to interviews.
