Pay Rate: £89.38 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full Academic Year

Start 2026 by doing something truly meaningful! Teaching Personnel is seeking a resilient and dedicated Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Ystrad Mynach, working with pupils aged 3–19.
This is a hands-on, rewarding role where every day brings the chance to make a real impact on a child’s learning and personal development. You’ll be working 1:1 with pupils, helping them access the curriculum and supporting their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
The ideal candidate is patient, adaptable, and confident in building positive relationships, with the ability to stay calm under pressure and apply effective strategies to manage challenging situations. Your flexibility, resilience, and positive approach will be key to creating a safe, nurturing environment where pupils can thrive.
While formal childcare or classroom qualifications are not required, experience working with individuals with SEN, in care settings, or in youth support roles is highly beneficial for this position.

What We’re Looking For
- Must be 18 or over
- Compassionate and resilient attitude
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and challenging behaviours
- Ability to provide consistent 1:1 and small group support
- Effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Commitment to fostering engagement, confidence, and emotional development
- Willingness to assist with personal care, mobility, and sensory needs
Requirements (or willingness to obtain at own cost)
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- Two professional references covering 24 months of employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
