Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils aged 3–19 at a specialist SEN school in Ystrad Mynach.
This school is committed to creating an inclusive environment and delivering high-quality education tailored to individual needs. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and complex learning difficulties, to achieve their full potential!
What You’ll Do
- Provide personalised 1:1 support and assist with classroom activities.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and effective de-escalation techniques.
- Support pupils with personal care, mobility, and sensory needs where required.
- Encourage engagement, confidence, and emotional development in every child.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEN team to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenges.
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and challenging behaviours (desirable).
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and maintain a positive attitude.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding.
Requirements (or willingness to obtain at your own cost)
To demonstrate your commitment to working in education, you must either hold or be prepared to apply for the following:
- Must be 18 or over
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- An Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- At least two professional references covering 24 months of employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
