SEN Teaching Assistant - Wigan - Required Immediately

• SEN Teaching Assistant required immediately for Secondary school in Wigan
• Full time position, initially offered on a temporary basis for one term
• Experience working with ASC and challenging behaviour is essential for this position
• Must hold or be willing to apply for a Child Workforce Enhanced DBS Certificate

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a well respected Secondary school based in Wigan to support with the recruitment of an SEN Teaching Assistant to work alongside an identified Year 7 pupil on a 1:1 basis who is on the ASC spectrum.

The SENCO wishes to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience working alongside students that have identified needs, students with ASC and children that show signs of challenging behaviour. The school have highlighted that the incoming SEN Teaching Assistant must be able to work alongside students, promoting positive learning and behaviour whenever possible and are able to help them make consistent improvements in class.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant must be enthusiastic, energetic and proactive, but also have a calming nature working alongside students with SEN needs and be able to identify and defuse stressful situations before they escalate.

• Located in Hindley, in the Wigan LEA you will have good access to public transport links making the school accessible to the surrounding areas, Wigan, Leigh and Bolton
