Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full Time, Term time only

Location: Skelmersdale

Salary: £12.90 - £14.57

An Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Secondary School in the Skelmersdale area has requested the support of Teaching Personnel to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from May 2024 until the end of the academic year with the opportunity to extend.

Role and responsibilities:

-          To support the class Teacher throughout the school day.

-          Setting up and closing down the classroom each day.

-          Giving feedback on the students you support to the class teacher.

-          Working closely with the class SENCO.

-          Completing observations and updating targets with the SENCO.

-          Supporting students with SEN throughout the school day, ensuring they complete the necessary work and offering support where needed.

-          This role may be to support on a 1-1 basis or group basis.

Requirements:

-          DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.

-          Experience supporting children with SEN.

-          Experience working within a secondary school.

-          Strong communication skills.

-          Patience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
