Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker/SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £12.90-£14.57 per hour

The role:
We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker/SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join an amazing school within the Preston area. The ideal person for this role will have experience working with children with additional needs, who require support within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health.)
- Strong behaviour management.
- Strategies to promote positive behaviour within the classroom and positive emotional wellbeing.
- Work closely with the class teachers and the school’s SENCO to put strategies into place to support the students.
- Creating a caring and supportive learning environment.
- Follow an observation plan and updating where necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Develop a strong professional rapport with the children.
- Assisting the schools SENCO with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
Requirements:
- Experience working with challenging youth in an educational or similar setting.
- A confident and resilient personality with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school community.
- A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
- No formal qualifications required; however, relevant experience and a commitment to personal and professional development are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
