An excellent opportunity has emerged for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a Primary Provision in Sale. This specialised setting accommodates a diverse range of needs, catering specifically to primary-aged students. We welcome applications from candidates with Team Teach and PECS training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Classroom Activities: Collaborate with class teachers to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons suitable for secondary students with diverse needs.
  • Individual Support: Provide one-to-one support, offering guidance and encouragement to enhance the learning experience for secondary-aged students.
  • Personal Care: Attend to the personal care needs of students, maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment tailored to the unique challenges of secondary education.
  • Behaviour Management: Apply effective behaviour management strategies, working closely with the class teacher and other staff to create a positive and respectful learning atmosphere.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assist in assessing and monitoring the progress of secondary students, providing constructive feedback to teachers and adapting support strategies as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to create a cohesive support network for secondary students with diverse needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with primary-aged students with SEN.
  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Training: Team Teach and PECS training are highly encouraged.
  • DBS Check: Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.
  • Registration: Candidates must register with Teaching Personnel prior to an ASAP start.
  • References: Provide references covering the past 24 months of employment history.
  • Right to Work: Possess a UK Right to Work document.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
