Job description

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young lives? Do you possess the empathy, patience, and dedication needed to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a mainstream secondary school setting? If so, Teaching Personnel invites you to apply for the position of SEN Teaching Assistant in Stockport!

Start Date: September 2024

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday during term time

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Support students with a range of SEN needs within the classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored support plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to students, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to build rapport with students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for collaborating with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
