Are you looking to support pupils in their re-introduction to school post lock down?
At Teaching Personnel we are looking to appoint an experienced teaching assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in the Ely are, come October and November 2020. The post will be part time, with the need for the applicant to be flexible on potential changes to their time table, dependant on the needs of the pupils. It is initially for 1 term with the view to extend should the first term be successful. Due to pupils having been out of their usual learning environment for an extended period, the school are looking to appoint someone who can support their pupils in re-adjusting to school life.
The school is 1 form entry and houses hard working, respectful children who are eager to learn. In line with their pupils hunger for learning, the school are looking to place somebody who will encourage and support the pupils new to the school in finding their love of education.
The role will consist of the following duties:
- Provide a professional, approachable and helpful assistance to the teacher
- Help with preparation and planning of activities and lessons
- Guide the child with different learning styles to ensure they are getting the full benefit from the lesson
- Ensure a safe place of work for the child and other students within the classroom
- Reporting of any issues, in line with the school policies and procedures
- Communicating effectively with pupils, staff, parents and carers where necessary
- Ad hoc admin/general duties where necessary
- Working with small groups and 1:1

Requirements for the role
- Passionate about primary education
- SEN experience
- Experience working with pupils on a 1:1 basis that can be referenced
- Safeguarding training
- A DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel)
- A UK address and right to work
- Flexibility in terms of transportation
- Experience within early years
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Level 2/3 qualifications – Desirable but not mandatory

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
