SEN Teaching Assistant in East Riding of Yorkshire

Teaching Personnel are looking for a General Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to start in September 2018, or earlier if possible!

Teaching Personnel support a fantastic range of provisions across the East Riding and are aiming to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work across Key Stage 2. The roles that we have available can either start in September 2018, or earlier if you are available. You can have your pick from full time, part time, long term post and short term. The standard working hours across the East Riding are 8am - 4pm and the minimum hourly pay rate you will receive is £9 per hour.


You will have a choice of OFSTED graded Schools to choose to work in, from 'Outstanding' to 'Requires Improvement'.

The schools are looking for:

  • An experienced individual who has previous and recent experience of supporting children in a school setting; Intervention experience would be ideal, however it is not essential
  • A candidate who sets clear boundaries for their pupils and has experience in supporting children with behavioural difficulties


Your main responsibility as the Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant will be to support the class teachers with the day to day running of the phase. You will also be responsible for supporting the class teacher with the challenging behaviour in the class and potentially some intervention work in core subject areas.

It would be ideal to be a driver and to have access to a car.

To join us and be successful in this Teaching Assistant position you will need to:

  • Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification
  • Have recent experience of managing challenging behaviour
  • A minimum of a C grade or above in GCSE Maths, English and Science
  • This position is subject to an enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • Your CV must cover the last 6 Years of employment and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
