Job description

An outstanding and award-winning SEN school group is seeking passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their growing school based in Dorset. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking, nurturing setting that supports pupils aged 4–19 with a range of additional needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with a variety of SEN in both classroom and 1:1 settings
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans
  • Encouraging and supporting pupils' development academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy (minimum GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths)
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
