Teaching Assistant
Job description
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a collaborative and supportive team in a specialist educational setting in Salisbury.
Working across a diverse range of educational provisions, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction challenges, sensory needs, and associated social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Your work will contribute directly to helping students access learning, develop independence, and achieve their potential.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Supporting teachers in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum adapted to individual needs.

Providing one-to-one and small group support, both in and out of the classroom.

Promoting emotional regulation, communication, and positive behaviour strategies.

Assisting with the development and implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Helping create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
-
Has experience in working with children with SEN with a good understanding of Autism.

Is patient, resilient, and adaptable with a calm and compassionate approach.

Can work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Is committed to supporting the individual learning journeys of each student.
Desirable (but not essential):
-
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning.

Experience with communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
