SEN Teaching Assistant – Bury Area

Location: Bury
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Agency, Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in the Bury area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children who require additional support. You will be supporting children who have additional needs such as Autism, leaning disabilities, physical disabilities, high anxiety and challenging behaviour. You will make a vital impact in helping children succeed in education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons tailored to individual needs.
  • Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet diverse SEN requirements.
  • Support pupils with behaviour management and emotional regulation.
  • Help maintain a positive and safe classroom environment.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support as directed by the teacher.
  • Contribute to classroom organisation and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or Willing to obtain one – essential.
  • Safeguarding training – essential and provided
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and resilience.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teaching staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
