Are you looking for a flexible and rewarding role in education? Teaching Personnel is seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, communication difficulties, and specific learning needs like dyslexia. In this role, you’ll work in small classrooms with students aged 5 to 16, helping to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. Your empathy, patience, and dedication will play a key part in helping students thrive both emotionally and academically.
Position Details:
- Start date – September 2025 (continuing throughout the academic year)
- Working hours – 8:30am – 3:30pm (may vary depending on the school)
- Schedule – Monday to Friday, term time only (full time and part time positions available)
- Location Bristol (BS30 Area)
- Potential to transition to contract with the school for the right candidate (if desirable)
Requirements:
- A child only DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel)
- A right to work in the UK
- 2 Proofs of address
- References from your last 2 working years
- What you’ll do?
What you’ll do:
- Support the classroom teacher in delivering the schools tailored curriculum to the students, and assist with the students learning either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
- Work closely with a team of teaching assistants to provide customized support to the students within your classroom of between 8 and 10 pupils
- Develop a trusting bond with the students you work with to ensure they feel safe with your environment and to allow them to thrive not only academically but also emotionally
- Ensuring all feel welcomed in your presence and motivate tour students to perform at the best of their abilities
- Foster professional relationships with fellow teaching staff in your classroom and across the school
Who are we looking for?
- Someone with a genuine passion for education who is looking to start or continue their career in education
- Strong behavioural management and communication skills
- Experience is not essential – as long as you have the passion and drive we’d love to talk to you
- Experience with SEN or challenging behaviour either professionally or personally is desirable but again not essential
