Graduate Flexible SEN teaching assistant

Location – Bristol (BS)

Flexible working week available

Key stages 1 – 4

£89 – £110 a day

Have you just graduated from university or close to finishing your degree and not sure where you want to take yourself next? Then we have the chance for you!

Teaching Personnel is currently looking for our next set of teaching assistants who will support and nurture students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) which can include but is not limited to emotional and behavioural difficulties, Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, anxiety, depression, medical needs and specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, making patients, understanding and empathy a key skill within this role. This specific role will be working with students aged between 5 – 16 and your role will be vital in creating the safe and nurturing environment where the students before best in and where they can thrive both academically and emotionally.

Position details:

  • Start Date – Immediately and continuing through to the end of the academic year, and the possibility to continue into the next school year
  • Working Hours – 8:30am – 3:30pm (may vary depending on the school you are working in)
  • Schedule – Monday – Friday, term time only (part time and full time options available)
  • Location – Bristol (BS area)
  • Potential to transition to a contact with the school for the right candidate (if desired)

What you’ll do:

  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering the schools curriculum and assist the students in their learning either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
  • Work closely along side other teaching assistants to provide the tailored support for a classroom of between 8 – 10 students
  • Develop strong and supportive relationships with students along in both their emotional and academic development
  • Build a trusting relationship with the students ensuring the feel welcomed safe and motivated when working with you in the academic setting
  • Build professional relationships with fellow teaching assistants, and wider school faculty

Who are we looking for?

  • Someone with a passion for education and is looking to begin or continue their career in this industry
  • Strong behavioural management and communication skills
  • Experience isn’t essential, as long as you have the determination and a strong mindset, we’d love to talk to you more about this role!#
  • Experience with SEN or challenging behaviour, weather it is professional or personal is desirable, but again not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
