SEN and Autism Teaching Assistant

Daily Rate - £89 - £110

We are looking for our next group of enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support and nurture students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Children with SEN may require additional support due to conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, communication difficulties, or behavioural challenges—so confidence and strong communication skills are essential in this role.
This rewarding position is perfect for someone with a resilient mindset and the ability to be both sensitive and supportive in meeting the unique needs of each individual student.
Position Details:
• Start – Immediate, continuing through to the end of the academic year
• Hours – 8:30am – 3:30pm, ideal for students or those seeking work-life balance
• Location – BS11 area of Bristol
• Opportunity to progress to a permanent contract with the school for the right candidate
• On-site parking available
What you’ll do:
• Support the classroom teacher in delivering the school’s curriculum, working with students in small groups or one-to-one
• Work in classrooms with 8-10 students, alongside other teaching assistants, supporting learning and development
• Encourage students to trust you and thrive in a supportive environment
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, and the wider school community
Who are we looking for?
• A passionate individual who enjoys working with children and is eager to begin or continue a career in education
• Strong behavioural management and communication skills
• Experience is not essential, but dedication and determination are key
• Experience with challenging behaviour in young people or adults is desirable
