Are you passionate about making a real difference in a young person’s life? Do you have the patience, empathy, and commitment to support students with special educational needs in reaching their full potential?

We’re working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the BL6 area, recently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, known for its supportive staff, inclusive ethos, and strong community links. The school is looking for a caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their welcoming team.

What your role will look like:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 or small-group support for students with a range of additional needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties).

  • Supporting access to the curriculum in and out of the classroom.

  • Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.

  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver individualised support plans.

  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.

What they’re looking for:

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEN (in school, care, or youth work settings).

  • Calm, compassionate, and resilient approach to behaviour and communication.

  • A team player who’s not afraid to take initiative and think creatively.

  • A genuine desire to support and uplift learners who face additional barriers.

  • Level 2 or 3 TA qualifications (desirable but not essential).

Why this school?

  • A supportive and experienced SEND department who value every member of the team.

  • Excellent behaviour policies and leadership support.

  • Opportunities for long-term development and potential permanent positions.

  • Located within easy access of public transport links in the BL6 area.

Interested?
If you’re ready to start a rewarding new role where every day counts, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re an experienced SEN TA or someone with a background in care or youth support, your skills could be just what this school needs.
