Trainee Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Stockport)
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Ideal for Future Educators

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Stockport as a Trainee Teaching Assistant from September 2025.
This role offers hands-on experience in the classroom and is ideal for graduates or aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, or youth workers who want to build valuable school-based experience.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons across a variety of subjects

Working 1:1 or with small groups of students who need extra support
-
Assisting in the preparation of classroom materials and displays
-
Monitoring student progress and behaviour to help create a safe, supportive learning environment

Building strong relationships with students, staff, and families
-
Taking part in regular training, mentoring, and development sessions
What We’re Looking For:

An energetic, empathetic, and proactive individual who’s passionate about helping young people achieve their potential

A confident communicator who works well within a team

Someone who’s reliable, punctual, and open to learning and feedback
Desirable (but not essential):
-
Previous experience working or volunteering with children or young people
-
An interest in a long-term career in education, SEND, or youth work
-
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
