Trainee Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Stockport)
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Ideal for Future Educators

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Stockport as a Trainee Teaching Assistant from September 2025.

This role offers hands-on experience in the classroom and is ideal for graduates or aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, or youth workers who want to build valuable school-based experience.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons across a variety of subjects

  • Working 1:1 or with small groups of students who need extra support

  • Assisting in the preparation of classroom materials and displays

  • Monitoring student progress and behaviour to help create a safe, supportive learning environment

  • Building strong relationships with students, staff, and families

  • Taking part in regular training, mentoring, and development sessions

What We’re Looking For:

  • An energetic, empathetic, and proactive individual who’s passionate about helping young people achieve their potential

  • A confident communicator who works well within a team

  • Someone who’s reliable, punctual, and open to learning and feedback

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Previous experience working or volunteering with children or young people

  • An interest in a long-term career in education, SEND, or youth work

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
