SEN Teaching Assistant *Epidermolysis Bullosa*

About the Role:

A well known school in Edgeware are currently looking for a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant who will be working on a 1-1 basis with a pupil who is physically challenged and has Epidermolysis Bullosa. Your role will be to support the pupil with everyday activities within a classroom based environment and additionally to provide medical support when needed. This is a full time role where the working hours will be from 08:30am to 16:00pm and term time only. Successful candidates will have experience working with a variety of severe skin conditions such as: eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis to name but a few.

In addition to this the school instils confidence and courageousness to pupils which is aided by excellent lesson planning and engaged student participation delivered by highly trained staff. Furthermore, on a whole the school ensures that adequate planning and resources are available for all vulnerable students, as it is with the upmost importance that students have an enjoyable school experience. The curriculum is based on the ethos that learning should be broad and balanced so that all learning abilities are approached with sensitivity and the time and preparation that they deserve. On a regular basis the school provides extra curricular activities for pupils to participate in such as: swimming lessons, horse riding lessons and music therapy.

About the candidate:

SEN Teaching Assistants or Nurses who are looking for a career change or a new opportunity:

  • Ideally have experience working with SEN children or young people
  • Passionate about having an impact on a child's learning development
  • Have a Teaching Assistant Qualification or Medical background
  • Open to delivering bespoke interventions
