SEN Teaching Assistant Bradford

Job description

A specialist school in Bradford are looking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant for a full time role, starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to apply for a permanent role in school following this period.

The school caters for pupils aged 11-16 with a range of complex educational and medical needs (ASC, MLD, PMLD) and are seeking a positive role model to share the school's ethos and desire to achieve.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering care and support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils with Special Educational Needs. You will be required to support pupils at mealtimes - including feeding and/or Personal Care.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognised Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Team Teach, Moving and Handling, Makaton and/or PECs training
  • A positive and patient approach to teaching and learning

Situated just a 7 minute drive from the centre of Bradford, the school also has excellent transport links. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
