Specifically, the York branch are recruiting an SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant to work within the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Provision within a central York Primary School.
This SEN Provision caters for children across KS1 and KS2 who have additional needs, such as Autism (ASC) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
The role:
- Full time
- Temporary with a view to a permanent position
- Classroom based
- Competitive pay, starting at £9 an hour minimum

The successful applicant will demonstrate a genuine Passion for education and Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant with a proven track record of excellent time keeping and communication skills. A willingness to learn and develop, within a team of staff who are committed to your professional development, will see you thrive in this role. Specific qualifications are not required for this role, although SCERTS training would be highly beneficial.
In order to be cleared for work you must be able to apply for an Enhanced Child Only DBS and register it with the Update Service. Additionally, you must be able to provide at least two graded references from your two most recent employers.
Pay: Starting hourly wage of £9 per hour
Location: Central York
Working for Teaching Personnel will ensure you receive support, advice and guidance on the above position and the prerequisites needed in order to be cleared to work within schools.
If you are, therefore, interested in this SEN Teaching Assistant position in York please send an up to date CV and covering letter to Molly Ibbitson.
