Job description

The setting is a Special Needs school in Salford and currently has 253 pupils on enrolled. The school caters for pupils aged 11-19 and who have a wide range of needs including: multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, social and emotional needs and mental health needs. In its most recent OFSTED inspection the school was graded as 'Outstanding'. To be considered for this position the Teacher will be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the importance of differentiation and have the ability to assure that learning is accessible to all pupils.

To apply for this position you must be a Qualified Teacher and be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEN. ideally the Teacher will have experience of working within a special school; however this is not essential as long as they can demonstrate a genuine passion and commitment for supporting pupils with SEN.

Full time position for an SEN teacher to start immediately. The position is for an SEN teacher and is initially a temporary position; however there could be the opportunity for permanent dependent on the need of the setting.

The ideal Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status with extensive experience with pupils with SEN
  • A specialism in working with pupils with SEN (desirable)
  • Team Teach training (desirable)
  • A commitment to supporting SEN pupils in achieving their optimal potential
  • An understanding of how to adapt lessons to assure that learning is accessible to all pupils
