SEN teacher required for SEMH school in Oxford

Job description

Full time position commencing as soon as possible for an SEMH teacher at a secondary Special needs School in Oxford. The school meets the needs of a diverse group of pupils with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours.

The main aim of the setting is to provide pupils with the appropriate support and intervention to integrate them outside of school and in later life. The role will involve supporting the holistic development of pupils with SEMH and assuring that the appropriate support mechanisms are implemented so that pupils can achieve their optimal potential. Due to the specific needs of the pupils the teacher should be experienced in dealing with pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour.

The school offer an exciting and engaging curriculum offering a wide range of nationally recognised academic and vocation qualifications and accreditations including GCSE, BTEC, ASDAN, Functional Skills and many more.

The ideal teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Extensive experience of working with pupils with SEMH
  • Team-Teach training (can be provided)
  • Experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour
