SEN Teacher - Scarborough

As an SEN Teacher in Scarborough, your job role will include responsibilities such as:

• Teaching small class sizes of up to 8 pupils and on a 1:1 basis 
• Preparing lessons and resources in-line with the abilities of all students
• Marking, assessing work and tracking pupil progress
• Developing and adapting conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils
• Using special equipment and facilities, such as audiovisual materials and computers to stimulate interest in learning
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants to define appropriate activities for pupils in relation to the curriculum

Working Hours:

• You will be expected to arrive in plenty of time for the first lesson to begin at 0850
• Final lesson will end at 1500 and you will be expected to tidy the classroom, ready for the next day
• Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

As the ideal SEN Teacher, you should have the following skills:

• Be commitment to working with pupils with special educational needs
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build good relationships based on trust with pupils, their families, School staff and other education professionals
• Behaviour management skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• An observant and responsive approach
• Have a positive, energetic and enthusiastic outlook
• Be patient, understanding and have empathy with pupils and parents
• Have a sense of humour
