SEN Teacher
Job description
This specialist further education provision supports learners aged 14 to 18 with a diverse range of SEN needs, including communication differences, learning disabilities, physical needs and social–emotional challenges. The environment is highly unique, set within expansive natural grounds, offering students opportunities to learn both in the classroom and through outdoor, vocational and enterprise-based activities.
Students engage in meaningful experiences such as animal care, horticulture, hospitality, retail and community projects—helping them develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher with QTS to deliver engaging, personalised and skills-focused learning programmes. The role blends classroom teaching with practical, hands-on activities, supporting learners to progress academically, develop independence and prepare for adulthood.

Plan and deliver lessons tailored to individual learning profiles

Support students with complex SEN needs in academic, practical and vocational tasks

Use a range of communication strategies, including visual aids and alternative communication methods

Work collaboratively with tutors, support staff and pastoral teams

Promote emotional wellbeing, independence and functional life skills

Track progress and contribute to personalised learning plans

Support learning across various environments, including outdoor and enterprise-based settings
Essential Experience & Skills

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN
-
A nurturing, adaptable and creative teaching approach

Confidence in supporting learners with diverse and complex needs

Strong communication and behaviour-support skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
