SEN TA required for an IMMEDIATE start in Chorley School

My client school in Chorley are seeking a TA to support children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Although the pupils are learning at a primary level, you must be confident supporting teenagers and be happy to provide personal care - toileting / feeding / changing. I must stress that the school have advised there will be a lot a of personal care involved and you will be required to work with children from Year 7 upwards. Most pupils are around Year 9 and the class size, although split, accommodates for between 12-13 pupils.

The school caters for boys and girls with a range of SEN including Severe Learning Difficulties or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. A number of pupils have severe medical needs.

The school are specifically looking for someone bright, engaging and proactive with a warming personality who can adapt quickly to the needs of their pupils and can fit in well with the staff in their department. You must be proactive and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative!

You MUST be willing to assist with personal care.

You will ideally have experience in an SEN school or supporting children with SEN.

You may be asked to assist in the schools hydrotherapy pool. Although you won't be expected to teach swimming (as the pupils use these sessions mainly for mobility purposes), you must be confident in the water and have the ability to swim. (This is essential to the role).

This school is a 1 mile walk from the closest train station (for those who don't drive) OR is located within easy access of the M61 and M6 for those with access to their own transport.

The role will be 5 days per week, full-time, and you must be fully available for continuity purposes. The role is to start ASAP and is long-term.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
