Position Available: Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) - Year 6, High-Level Behaviour and SEMH.

Location: Kirkham (PR4)

Job Type: Temporary – until the end of the academic year, with possibility to go permanent.

Salary: Competitive, between £12.85 - £13.50 per hour.

Start Date: Monday 3rd June 2024.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 6 student with high-level behaviour needs and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the student's academic progress and promoting their overall well-being within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized 1:1 support to the designated Year 6 student, assisting with academic tasks and implementing tailored strategies to address behavioural and SEMH concerns.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies, ensuring the student's individual needs are met effectively.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes the student's social and emotional development, including the implementation of therapeutic interventions where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with high-level behaviour needs and SEMH challenges, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) support, behaviour management, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies, with the ability to adapt approaches to meet individual student needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
