Year 4 Additional Support Assistant

  • Monday – Friday 8.45am – 3.15pm
  • £12.90-£13.40 p/h
  • Start date: June 2024

A primary school in Blackburn (BB1) are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced Teaching Assistant who has knowledge and previous experience of supporting children with additional needs. This role has arisen due to additional funding within the school. The focus of this role would be to support a child in Year 4 on a 1:1 basis.

The Role

This role is currently full-time (Monday-Friday, 8:45am-3:15pm), in a Year 4 setting, working on a 1:1 basis with a child who needs assistance in focusing on their work, there are no behavioural needs. You will be working closely alongside the class teacher and the schools SENCO to ensure that the pupils educational needs are met following the child’s EHCP as well as aiming to develop the child’s academic abilities and independence.

The school

The school is situated in Blackburn (BB1), the Head Teacher is focused on pupil and staff development. The successful applicant would need to uphold the school ethos and demonstrate the core values.

• Demonstrate effective communication

• Confident working on a 1:1 basis

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
