SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Lytham St Annes (FY8)
Pay: £11.90 per hour
Sector: Primary School
Hours: Monday to Friday (term time only 08:30 – 15:30)

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a primary school in Lytham St Annes to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant. We are looking for an educator who is confident, reliable, and hard-working as the role will entail working within a learning resource base. The Learning Resource Base (LRB) caters for pupils who have ASD, ADHD or Challenging Behaviour.

We are looking for someone who has experience supporting children with additional learning needs and someone who is pro-active, able to adapt to change quickly and comfortable dealing with challenging situations.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • To build strong relationships with the with class teacher, support staff and the pupils
  • Assist the class teacher with behaviour management
  • Support the pupils with all activities throughout the full school day
  • Adapt to the needs of the children when supporting them during the day
  • Ensure the children are within a safe environment at all times
  • Motivate and encourage the pupils to develop their social and emotional skills

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in a school-based setting or in the care sector
  • Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
  • Experience supporting individuals with special education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
