Teaching Assistant – Primary SEMH School
Location: Rawtenstall
Contract: Full-time, Temp-to-Perm
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Pay: £13.75 per hour

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs? A welcoming and supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) primary school in Rawtenstall is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team.

Details about the role

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of pupils, both in and out of the classroom. In an SEMH setting, this means helping children manage their emotions, stay engaged with their learning, and build positive relationships. You may work one-to-one with pupils or support small groups, adapting activities to suit individual needs and promoting a calm, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strong understanding of the primary curriculum is essential

  • Experience working with children with additional needs including Autism and ADHD

  • A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential

  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
