We are currently looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and supportive team in one of our great mainstream Primary schools in Cardiff (CF5), to work one-to-one and with small groups, providing classroom based & extra curricular support to children with Additional Learning Needs.

The Ideal Candidate :

You must be willing to provide help and support to children with Autism, ADHD, Speech Language and Communication Needs, Emotional and Behavioural Disorder, Social and Emotional Mental Health or Global Delay. Your role will consist in assisting the class teacher with children in need of additional support mainly in core subjects, Phonics, Reading, Writing and Numeracy, but also helping out with their integration and emotional support. Any certificates or qualifications related to Special Needs and/or Education in general along with experience working in an educational setting (from Early Years to Year 6) are preferable but not compulsory.

This position is well suited for a creative, compassionate, caring and patient candidate with a good behaviour management, willing to develop their knowledge in the education and special needs sector. We highly recommend for graduates who are willing to make a career in education to apply. The role is a full time and long term position (Monday to Friday, school hours) to start in September.

Applicants must :

- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice
- Be living in Cardiff and/or have plans to move to Cardiff in the near future and/or be willing to travel to Cardiff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
