About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate Nursery Nurse who is looking for part time or full time work in Edgware. The school is well respected within the local area and is a nursey and infant school. A well known school in Edgeware are currently looking for a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant who will be working on a 1-1 basis with a pupil who is physically challenged. At the forefront of the infant schools philosophy is providing a safe and caring environment for all pupils, where academic attainment and a supportive senior leadership team go hand in hand. This is a full time role where the working hours will be from 08:30am to 16:00pm and term time only. The school is looking to provide these children with the care and support they need throughout their school lives in order to succeed both academically and socially.

Your everyday task will include supporting your key pupil but on occasions support other pupils within the classroom who do not require additional support differing learning abilities. The class sizes do vary but usually consist of around 14 to 21 young children who have excellent behaviour. Additionally, you will support the class teacher with various activities throughout the day. There are around five children where English is not their first language so your role would include helping them to feel more comfortable within a classroom environment. If you have any experience working with vulnerable children in a classroom environment with any learning difficulties such as: Autism, Down Syndrome, or Hearing and Visual Impairment; we would like to here from you!

What we are looking for?

  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable children
  • Possess a Valid DBS certificate
  • Has EYFS or KS1 Experience
  • Experience working with SEN pupils (essential)
  • Teaching Assistant Qualification

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
