Have you recently graduated with a degree in Music or have a background in music?

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic teaching assistant for our partner school, an SEN specialist school across the North Manchester area. The position will be working predominately with children 11-16 year old pupils who have variety of special educational needs including; physical difficulties, complex medical conditions and communication needs. Ideally you will have a flexible nature and be prepared to cover across all years where needed. Your role will be supporting with behaviour management and to engage and interact with the children to enable them to be able to access the curriculum fully. The role is temporary covering long term and temporary absence,  but may extend until the end of the academic year with opportunities of a permanent contact.

The school aspires to work together with everyone who is involved in the lives of their pupils and create an inclusive environment and ensure that all pupils reach their full potential. The school provides various support and equipment for the students including sensory rooms, speech and language therapy and the opportunity to complete work placements.

The ideal candidate needs to demonstrate  flexibility, as quite often they may be required to work across various classes and support children with varying needs. You  will also need to demonstrate empathy, resilience and strong classroom management skills.

An ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

-          School based SEN experience

-          Makaton experience or BSL (to any level)

-          Moving and handling / Team- Teach qualification (desired)

-          An empathetic and caring personality

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
