SEN maths tutor
Job description

As a tutor that works with students that suffer with mental health difficulties or additional needs, you will have a good understanding on the importance of tailoring the learning experience to the individual and identifying what works for them.
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to facilitate and provide individualised maths lessons for students that find the school curriculum challenging. Responsibilities:
- Teach high quality maths lessons for SEN students
- To provide 1-1 or small group tutoring sessions that are tailored to the individual or the group.
- Able to recognise where students are struggling and adjust the lesson plan to suit their needs, but also being able to see where their strengths are and develop the work when appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents and other school professionals to effectively monitor progress and adjust lessons where appropriate.
- Apply evidence-based strategies to support student progress and emotional wellbeing.
Qualifications:
- QTS must be held or six months experience teaching maths in SEN
- Previous experience working within the SEN sector and students with mental health or additional needs. Experience working with Autism would also be beneficial
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and build positive and effective rapport with students.
- Patience, empathy and a genuine interest in having a positive impact on students lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
