SEN Maths Teacher - Cambridge

Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint an engaging Maths Teacher (NQT, FQT or OTT) for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Cambridge.

Encouraging confidence and ensuring pupils have access to their education entitlement; you will be teaching Maths at GCSE level to pupils with additional needs. You should be confident with managing the behaviour of pupils in line with school policies.

The School

  • Encourages the development and confidence of each pupil by supporting and organising activities both on and away from the school site.
  • The school has a strong focus on the promotion of well-being as well as vocational and academic programmes, which parents and carers are heavily involved in.
  • Tailored independence programmes are designed to enable older students to take responsibility for their own personal development. These programmes focus on promoting choice and decision-making, as well as life-skills development such as independent study, travel and cooking.

The Successful Applicant:

  • Must be a qualified teacher with experience teaching Maths to KS3 and KS4. If you can teach Maths to A-level, it would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Should have some knowledge of Autism (ASD).
  • Should either have experience of working with students with SEN, communication difficulties or complex needs or have a strong interest and a passion to teach pupils with SEN.
