SEN HLTA – Leeds (LS10)

Daily Rate: £90–£120/day | Contract: Full-time, long-term, short-term | Start Date: 2025-26 (Academic year)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEN setting in South Leeds (LS10). This role is ideal for an HLTA who is passionate about supporting children with a range of additional needs and confident stepping up to lead learning when required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering small-group interventions and supporting 1:1 SEN pupils

  • Leading whole-class sessions when the teacher is absent, using pre-planned lessons

  • Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning needs

  • Adapting resources and strategies to meet individual needs

  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to track progress

The ideal candidate will have:

  • HLTA qualification (essential)

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN

  • Confidence in leading small groups and covering full classes

  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills

  • A positive, resilient and compassionate approach to supporting pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
